How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
When co-owner Shoji Mochizuki, immigrated from Japan, he wanted to "give back" some of what America gave to him. With his experience as a sushi chef, Sushi-Zen was created. Shoji explains that "We opened Sushi-Zen to create jobs, serve delicious food, and create a family friendly dining experience.”
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Sushi-Zen's ongoing commitment is to create the finest Japanese cuisine in the Arlington metro area with innovative and healthy menu items.
Where possible, Sushi-Zen uses non-gmo, organic and gluten free ingredients.
We opened Sushi-Zen to, serve delicious, healthy Japanese food and create a family friendly dining experience,
Sushi-Zen believes in giving back to the local communities that have supported us over the past 20 years.
“Celebrating 20 years doing something good for the community that been so good to us just feels right,” commented Co-Owner Rosie Gordon Mochizuki.

The Japanese character for "Zen" in Sushi-Zen also means "dining table’", a time for family and friends to share a meal and dialogue. With a focus on natural, fresh food and a relaxed atmosphere, Sushi-Zen has been a favorite of Arlington families since 1997.
